Bill Haley, Crazy Man, Crazy
October 4, 1953, Bill Haley & The Comets’s Crazy Man, Crazy becomes the first rock and roll song heard on national television during William Inge’s “Glory in the Flower” episode of the CBS series Omnibus. This program featured Philadelphian Edward Binns, Hume Cronyn, Jessica Tandy and James Dean in a role similar to his James Stark character in Rebel Without a Cause.
